The day had slowly darkened,
'Til dusk finally reached its prime.
The moon, it cast a radiant light,
Tonight it will be mine.
An ebony sky my eyes confronted,
Sprinkled with stars that shined.
A whispering wind blew gently passed,
As I tried to find what was mine.
I questioned the stars of life and love,
For they have seen it all.
Yet all they did was stare and blink,
'Til one finally answered my call.
"My child, what have you to fret?
Have you taken another fall?
Did you let your heart break again?
Did he forget to call?"
Smiling I spoke back to them,
"No, it's the love I have already lost."
And wisely he replied once more,
"Yes child, love has its cost."
I asked them if I'd ever forget
And they replied with accost,
"My child, you have so much to learn!
Everything has its cost.
Now take the sky for example
Remove all the stars from the night.
What is it that you would see?"
I replied, "An obvious lack of light!"
Laughing fully they explained to me,
The sky would be a midnight.
Just as your life would have been without him
His memory adds that bit of fine light.
Stars complete this peaceful night
As these pains complete your past.
No need to fret over these things,
For they have already passed!
It was a part of growing up;
Hard, but you must hold fast.
Love will come again my child,
Your life has not yet passed.
Content I closed my eyes to rest,
Wise words echoing through my mind.
Perhaps my time has yet to come,
Someday a love I will find.
A man who knows me in and out,
Whose gaze is soft and kind.
This is the man I will come to love,
This is the man I will find.

You, my lady are completely amazing. The word that comes to my mind is PURE! There's going to be a lucky guy in the world when he gets to put a ring on your finger and make you his wife. If he's 18 or 81, just by your writing I can tell it's only the heart you're looking for. I have noticed there are still some great ladies in the world that want the same thing you do regardless of other things. You are what they call in the world a great catch of the sea!
