My Betrayer.
This was your first role.
You were sent in a desperate rage,
eager to avenge the blood of you beloved,
which I so apathetically spilt.
My Sheath.
This was your second role.
He gave you this burden, unknowing of your motives,
and you accepted,
accepted the offer to be my last lifeline to my lost humanity.
My Wife.
This was your third role.
For my protection, we left in the dark of night
and became a happily married couple,
and you slipped into this easily,
hiding the hatred and anger you bore.
My Love.
This was your fourth role.
The line between love and hate blurred,
and we crossed it, blinded to all else,
to the consequences to which we would soon pay a high price.
You died for me,
my own blade stilling your heart,
and now, I had betrayed you,
unwillingly.
My Savior.
And though this meager grave could never suffice,
my promise to you will hold forever.
"I will protect you."
Author notes
