Much More Then A Friend

Inspired by a gentle young man,
a wonderful poet on allpoetry
I read his poem Stubborn Pride,
that's how I met live4eternity.

Speaking gently of God's great love,
I began listening to every word,
I was a non believer all my life,
God's voice could never be heard.

We talked through allpoetry comments,
then it was emails and the telephone,
for weeks we would talk for hours ,
then one day I was no longer alone.

God was by my side and in my heart,
tears overwhelmed me for three days,
the spirit of God came into my life,
He began lifting all my burdens away.

Thank you Jason for taking my hand,
you gently showed me to God's door,
now I know God's son died for me too,
I had never felt that way before.

Jason has become another son to love,
his family is so very dear to my heart,
God came into a life full of heartache,
His love gave my life a  brand new start.

He keeps inspiring me to learn God's words,
talking on the instant messenger each day,
whenever I need some encouragement,
we call each so we can  talk, then we pray.

Author notes

I could never thank you enough Jason. Having God in my life has changed it more then anything else, except for the birth of my children. God's love gives me stength to face each day and what they may bring. God let's me smile again.

The flow and rythm for this poem just suits the tribute you have penned here. A poem worthy of the bronze and congradulations on the win. Gregg

as we see God in our friends our heart longs for something more than what we have obtained from this place that we merely exist.
I am proud to know you are born again with the love and forgiveness within your heart.
thank you Jason for opening another door to our savior.
    many blessing to you both

    Outstanding

Terrific work Sandy. Opening your heart and soul for all to see the light within and experience your joy. What the old saying, "God works iin mysterious ways". In your case, I think it's true. To find truth through poetry, Outstanding. Keep up the great writing. Take care and God Bless.

Sandy, I am so glad you entered, you are such an inspiration to all! This is so beauiful, what a tribute to Jason, he sounds amazing, this is so heartfelt, I could relate to so many parts of this writing...the part that was so beautiful to me was tears overwhelming for three days, I have been there, and then being filled by him with all his hope, love and joy. You are so wise and just one of the most loving people here, It is wonderful Jason touched your heart as I know he his very blessed having you as his friend. All the best in the contest my dear friend, and God Bless you for all you do, and just being "SANDY"! Ann
