Rain

Somewhere along the path, the rains stopped.
And somewhere further down the road,
I realized I wasn't alone anymore.
The self doubt, the shy nature,
It melted like the snows leading to Spring.

Because I glanced over my shoulder and saw you,
Walking slow with your head bowed
And your hands clasped before you,
Something proud in the way you carried yourself,
And something coming from you that eased me.

Just the sight of you relaxed me then,
And I knew you were here for good.
Something about you told me this,
And my fears left my soul and heart,
Because there you were, just a few steps behind.

I can feel you in my bones and in my skin,
And there is no need for you to touch.
Your touch feels warm against my skin anyway,
And I will not pull away from it.
Make me feel whole again, just hold me.

Catch up to me now on this rainless path,
Let your spirit warm my being.
Look up and in to my eyes so I can see you smile,
And let your smile be my umbrella.
Put your arms out and dance with me.

I didn't like this one as much as your other two, but it was still an excelent write, using great imagry and stuff like that. I think this one needs to have the person described a bit more, so we can feel conected with him. Still good poems!

Oh, this is delightful. The images are powerful, and the emotions run strong under the words. It feels natural, organic, and comfortable. I will definitely check out more of your stuff.

The fact that you wrote a piece like this in freeverse gives me renewed hope in formless verse. Thanks for sharing.
