The Fearless Flower

(For John Frank)

After the dawn of the fall one flower remained
With an unheard of strength it endured many windy days

But towards the sunset of a season so turbulent and violent,
the flower began to wilt in defeated silence

Refusing to give in to his tormentor, death
The fearless flower stood up and took one last breath

Gathered strength and restraint beyond his capabilities
Ultimately he reaped the benefits of positivity

He made it through another season although it was tough
Less one petal; but arriving at his goal was reward enough

    Terrific

I know you wrote about a fearless flower, but all I could see while reading this was an elderly woman withstanding the ravages of time. Season to season, just hoping for one more day in the warmth of the sun of another spring. Just my thoughts. The image of the flower works very well. Terrific poem. Take care and God Bless.

    Ingenious and Clever Write

Hooray for "The Fearless Flower", it gives hope and strength to flowers of all ages around the world. When you put your mind to something, you can accomplish your dreams even if you finish minus one petal, the fact is that you gave it your best shot. I loved this poem becuase of it's encouragement and it's power to achieve no matter the obstacles put forth. Great concept for this poem Dee, I loved it.

This was really smooth. The flow was wonderful and the rhyme was not forced. I loved the hope in the write the idea of never giving up (something you don't see people write about much here on AP) I think you did a fantastic job!
