beautiful buttons
sitting there on my shirt
looking at me
shiny, round and soft
buttons buttons!
planning always planning
murderous buttons!
watching me contemptuously
who will be next?
will it ....be me....?
or will it....
BE YOU!
buttons buttons murderous buttons
planning, always planning!
glaring and always glaring
evil eyes shift- staring...
planning & plotting,
detaching themselves and trotting
down the pants and astray
freedom from the clothing
will they find you...
or come back for me....?
waiting waiting
validating - need them to be properly dressed

What an interesting way to think about buttins, giving them life, thought and mobility. A very creative poem. Liked it.

I always find it amazing how a poet can bring life into something as simple as a button. I love the simplisity of this and how it brought a smile.

Busting all the buttons
Buttons, buttons, making every zipper jealous. With zealous contempt, each button blows to vent a stretch of skin mixed in the spin of sinister exposure while the zipper sits, seething, stuck and broken once again. -

laughing, when i was a small child, i used to burst into fits of giggles everytime someone mentioned the word button lol i have no idea why i found the word so funny but i did, and to this day everytime i see and hear the word those memories return to me and bring me smiles so thanks for that
