My best friend, the man i love
the one who's fate was in the hands of those above.
He died of the disease that has yet to have a permanent cure.
They cured it once, and the doctor seemed so sure,
but then all of a sudden, we find out
its come back without a doubt.
But this time it was worse
this horrible thing is such a curse
it hit in his brain, and slowly took over his wonderful mind,
slowly leaving the rest of him behind.
He taught me everything i know
we did everything together like going to the bank and the show
we caught lizards raccoons and mice
we played card games and bored games and games with dice
I loved him dearly he was the best papa ever
and he wont die, for he will be in my heart forever.

Fantastic
Devin
I love your poem, it is a great honor you pay your grandfather, I know what it is like to lose your best friend. My grandfather was my best friend, I lost him 20 yrs ago, but a day does not go by without my thinking about him and the wonderful summers I spent at his home.

Outstanding
Hi Devin,
This work is beautifully written. It brought a tear to my eye because it reminded me so much of my time with my late father. He was taken over with Alzhiemers in February of this year at the age of 89. I know the feeling too well. I miss him so much because he was my best friend. Keep up the great writing. Take care and God Bless.
Michael
