Peanut Butter Heaven

All the shells are removed from the peanuts,
they are whipped velvety smooth on high,
spread between two pieces of bread with jelly,
or made into a delicious peanut butter pie.

Making peanut truffles for the holidays,
a gift of candy to unexpected company,
today peanut butter cup are my favorite,
Reese's pieces were my favorite at age three.

When I'm hungry I dip a spoon into the jar,
pure heavenly joy as I taste it on my lips,
there are times I cannot help myself,
I lick the peanut butter off my fingertips.

Crunchy peanut butter I use baking cookies,
adding some chocolate chips is a real treat,
I love peanut butter icing on chocolate cake,
peanut butter and vanilla ice cream is so sweet.

peanut butter is one food that I think most people like. I usually eat it on oreos, but I also like all the other treats you described. Oh man, I am getting so hungry reading your poems! lol, I will probably go to lunch in a little while, it is almost noon after all. Anyways, I liked this poem!

    Good enough to eat.

Sandy I like peanut butter but not to that extent, but this vividly fast moving happy go lucky poem does. It had me off to the kitchen as soon as I read the last word. I have often written about an "after taste" left in poetry but never peanut butter flavoured !!

Yea this was a yummy contest. I too lost 23 lbs since July. It's my poetry diet. Instead of snacking, I wrote a poem. Thank you so much for the nice comment. You always leave such kind words. Take care, Sandy
