Richie ( A Proud Marine )

The trumpets are playing taps for Richie,
he is home his  time on this earth is now done,
God was waiting in Heaven with open arms,
to lift him up from the hot dessert sun.

Richie  was a marine who loved his country,
no sacrifice was ever too big or to small,
he never wavered in the fight for freedom,
fighting in Iraq last month he gave his all.

As you look down from Heaven at your loved ones,
see all the love and pride they feel for you,
you have filled their hearts with sweet memories,
these memories give comfort, they are missing you.

Richie died a hero for believing in freedom,
he loved Old Glory our red, white and blue,
sacrificing his life he  was a proud marine,
thank you Richie, I write this to honor you.

Author notes
