Death to Halloween

I hear footsteps, footsteps on the ground
Echoing without a single sound.
Whispers, there’s more then one person in my house.
Their voices send shivers up my spine.
One by one, I hear their feet clunk around.

Three dead angels, silent as a howling dog.
Their voices rang out loud and clear, their motive is obscure.
Knives switch out of their casing; I see them stabbing my family.
Over and over, again.
Outside, I see them smashing the pumpkins into the street.

Death before Halloween,
Death to the people,
Death to Halloween.

Waiting, for Eric Draven to come.
But he’s been dead for years, and for years to come.
Someone send these people a Vigilante,
save them from Devil’s Night.

Your words echo in mind “It can’t rain all the time.”
I know you’re out there, waiting, stalking the people
who continue to kill.
Perhaps I’ll be just like you, Eric.
I’ll come back and extract revenge.

Death before Halloween,
Death to the people,
Death to Halloween.

The gang enters my room,
Taking my child innocence.
Their fingers feel like claws of tiger as they have their way.
I’m trying to be strong, trying to not cry or even scream.
But “God no, no!” are the only words that escape my lips.

Someone, please. I don’t want to be a victim on Devil’s Night.
My heart is pounding and is caught in my throat, blood rushes from the knife wounds. If anyone is out there, just help me please.
Lend me a helping hand or maybe a feather.
The last thing I saw before I collapsed into eternal darkness was a crow, fluttering about the room.

Death before Halloween.
Death to the people.
Death to Halloween.

    wonderful

I love this poem...hell I love The Crow...well Brendon Lee anyway. Wonderful write, I loved the imagery and the twining darkness. Very good read after a hard days work.
