Passion (Triolet)

As our passion of love returns
It fills our hearts with desire
Amazing how this fire still burns
As our passion of love returns

  Living life without petty concerns
Allowing fervor to rekindle the fire
As our passion of love returns
It fills our hearts with desire

Author notes

This is written in the Triolet form.

Definition:

A Triolet is a poetic form consisting of only 8 lines.  Within a Triolet, the 1st, 4th, and 7th lines repeat, and the 2nd and 8th lines do as well.  The rhyme scheme is simple:  ABaA abAB, capital letters representing the repeated lines.

This is gracefully written. I've never tried writing a triolet but I might very soon after reading this one. Thank you for sharing.
    Cheers! Eris

Nicely done, funny how if something is well-written you don't even notice the repetition.
    Great job!
    Good luck in the contest!

This is very nice. Usually, when I read writes with repeating lines I find it doesn't seem to work. You've pulled it off here. It has a very nice flow and overall feeling.

Beautifullly written triolet!!! It is not easy to write these where the flow is smooth, and the repetition blends in seamlessly. You however, have made this appear easy with this romantic and moving write! I liked the line, "Amazing how this fire still burns.." as it adds such a personal voice, as if you were saying that aloud in response to rekindled passion.
    Well done!! Karen

This was simply gorgeous. I loved how you used a short form and made it speak out so strongly. Not many can capture such a remarkable moment in a short amount of words. Amazing job on this one. I will certainly look forward to reading more work from you. I wish you luck.

This one. This one I love. Your passion fuels your talent, the words flow free, and you no longer stumble. Finally, you soar. This I love.

You are one of the lucky one's i'd say... if passion dies and then can be rekindled, then that is success :-)

    Enjoyed this, very nicely done.
