Oh Beauty, You Surely Be...

The snow, it falls,
frozen the walls,
oh beauty,
you surely be.

With ice on the ground,
and white all around,
the winter moves in,
and pleases us then,
oh beauty,
you surely be.

The birds fly away,
the coyotes stay,
the trees lose their leaves,
and the humans wear sleeves,
oh beauty,
you surely be.

The smell is in the air
of wood burning in a family's lair,
as the cold does what it can
to stay in our land,
oh beauty,
you surely be.

The great ol'
bears are away in caves,
the bucks are out
like young Indian braves,
kids shovel away
as winter's young slaves,
oh beauty,
you surely be.

Author notes

I wrote this in my last hour Pre-Calc class instead of doing...well, anything.  I wrote it as I went on the board, and some people got the teacher to leave it up.  I guess they liked it, so I said I'd put it online.  Let's call it a love poem...to winter.

Let's call it a love poem...to winter. (Nice, I'm such a nerd!) Okay, well as you know, I dig the poem, however,
    oh beauty,
    you surely be.
I don't like that you surely be part, and I don't really know why. It flows really well with the poem, but I'm not sure. Also, the entire poem was marvo-rad and filled with awesome images, until: and the humans wear sleeves,
? Why that line, I think you could've put something much more beautiful than people. Anyways, you know, I like your poetry. I think it's rad, and this one is no different...you could've been writing me back though too. You know, you owe some people some notes. So, once you get her's done, I'll be expecting mine. Hehe, Peace and Love,
    Leah.

This wasn't too mean of a comment, was it? You know I loved this, I told you in school I did.
