A Fragile Heart

Fragile is my love for you
with my broken heart mended
held together with hope
that it will not break completely

Yesterday's tears stain my pillow
as your voice echoes untruths
once again I am overwhelmed
lost between never-land and now

Yearning for what should have been
looking into the emptiness of your eyes
not wanting to take the chance
I listen to that little voice that says

Run, run as fast as you can
take your fragile heart and hide
away from the shadows of pain
drown your sorrows in your tears

Erase the wants from your mind
forget the dreams before the sorrow
search for the reality of life
never to give your heart again

this is a wonderfully written poem even in its sadness however this may have had more effect if you had used the picture I gave for the prompt instead of the one you have here. thanks for entering and good luck

A different view of the picture. I'm thinking I don't want to be around her if she is so broken. She looks as if she can take care of things. Nice write.
