One Lonely Night

As I try to open my eyes to reality,
sad visions of loneliness filter in,
the torment of too many memories,
overwhelm me, the nightmares begin.

Temptations were too irresistible,
losing control our desire was abound,,
unfaithfulness caused by loneliness,
slamming doors have a formidable sound.

Pleasure finally found it's completion,
two strangers meeting as lost souls,
comforting emotions shared in the twilight,
each one making the other whole.

Losing a lifetime in a moment of passion,
losing the only true love in my life,
one hot foolish night of losing control,
unforgivable breaking of vows as a wife.

Now my dreams have turned to nightmares,
as loneliness devours my tortured mind,
heartfelt tears fall upon your empty pillow,
happiness left with you, leaving heartache behind.
