I look down at my latest nephew; he lies upon my arms in refuge.
Though he seems happy and well; I shed a tear he has to live in this hell.
A world where immorality is the latest fling, it is abundant as grass is grass in the spring.
What Britney spears is on playboy
Now that little 12 year old can get a little more joy
We live in a sick and twisted world, where immorality is all the rage.
They claim my God is false, and then I think all is lost
But then my lord sends me a gift, my brother in Christ arrives swift.
We talk of what is keeping us down, from earning that eternal crown.
A tear begins to form in my eye; he puts his hand on me and says “It’s alright.”
The world is still dark from start to end, but I can handle it with my righteous friend.
Again I’m looking down at my baby nephew boy; this time I have no worry only joy.
I know when his burdens become great; he’ll have a uncle to help him no matter how late.

Children truly are a gift from the Lord. I agree, sometimes I get so upset with the way of the world, and then it just takes a simple thing (like a birth) to remind me of who is in control. Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest!

Lovely sentiments here. I admire your faith, which you conveyed in a gentle way, without becoming too prechy. I struggled a little bit with your rhyme...it seemed a little awkward in some places. But even so, I enjoyed this piece. thanks for entering my contest.
