I admire your dedication to your feathery friends. Those sparrows are very beautiful and in my opinion they are not the 'least' at all in the bird kingdom.

    Sincerely,
    Leo Long

This has a very soothing feel, love the message of how all living things are important and special. Once again, just lovely. Not easy writing these short little powerful pieces, is it ? :-)
    Beautiful,

    Cheryl,

That is so true. Too many overlook what seem to many as the insignificant. It doesn’t just happen in birds either. I know, because I have been overlooked, and I have overlooked. Another great one girl!

    Tender, goes together nicely.

Cheryl, I have never read a cinquain before. Interesting form, like haiku, which to me is a very special art I find difficult to master. I'm enjoying this. Sorry I haven't been on line much. It's because I haven't been able to apply for membership, but today I couldn't resist.

I wanted this to be as plain as possible...to make a strong effect. You nailed it. Hard to say it all with 22 syllables. I tried to do it with the form as well. Thanks for noticing.

    Cheryl
I started a haiku bird contest now too...I must be nuts...heheh...I love these birds

    Nicely done

I think the reference is that not a single sparrow falls, but God knows of it. They still fall, but God is with them in it.
These little guys are everywhere, so much part of the scenery that we tend not to notice them. I love the racket that a flock of them makes inside a cedar hedge.
Excellent writing, Cheryl, you have touched on the very heart of sparrow-ness!

Oh I do love the sparrow and he is so very overlooked. This is beautiful. I love the statement you make at the end. I remember the verse in the Bible where Jesus says "remember the sparrow. If I will take care of his needs, surely I will take care of yours". I know that's not an exact quote, but basically that's how it goes. Wonderful Cheryl!!

You are teasing my senses with the magnificent beauty of these birds! You are going to use up all the ones I know anything about before I get to try a Cinquain. Actually, you have inspired me to do a little a research now. This is so pleasing. I am so glad you have heightened my awareness to not only a new form of writing, but to these darling feathered friends of yours. Thank you Cheryl! I have not been as observant to the beauty around me as I should have been!
