Rise

No one can ever say I'm unreal
No one can ever say I'm not who I am
If I choose to fear rejection, that's my way
No one can ever say I'm faking it
No one can ever say I'm dumb
If I struggle with ill-fortune, that's my way

We may scream out our different tunes
And take up different swords
But we all breathe the same air and fall the same way too

I don't need no honest words
To heal my broken soul
I've struggled on my own till now
I don't think I'll live forever
Or sing safely in the mire
But I'll carry on regardless and rise within the fire

very good, would make good lyrics

very good, it could be a song, keep up the writing and you will go far, you should maybe take some of your poetry to a music agent, see what they say and you just might end up with some sort of contrct, you never know!

Yes, this is wonderful. It makes me smile to know that you were writing hopeful poetry while I was away. I hope this trait continues.

    Always yours

I like the last verse about carrying on regardless, it's a great way to end the poem.

    Wow...WOW

OOOH! OOOH! *dies for a moment* I love it...LOVE IT. People always think that being a certain way is just following the crowd but no matter WHAT it is still a person's decision! AAAGH! I love the concept of this piece and the way you weave it into this imagery...You just completely rocked my socks. Cheers!
