They, died a million deaths, these
hidden ones; Shoes and teeth
were all that remained;
Babies, clung to their mothers
for the final indignity of communal
deaths.
The proud, silent, nation wept;
Rivers of tears, at the atrocities
of evil genocide, denied by
the world; mass graves the only
proof.
Later, awareness crept into
visibility, by letters, smuggled out of camps
by friendly gaolers;
Scraps of sorrow, rises as dust, to
awaiting arms of peace......
Least we forget...........

powerful
it definitely brings Hitler's repression of the jews back into perspective, and reminds us all of the power of any one single persons deranged opinions combined with a bloodthirsty army willing to defend this belief.
very strong provocative. keep it up.

We should never forget this horrible crime against man and against God. One of the worst sins ever. Excellent poem that carries well, these sentiments.

This is quite powerful and moving. My favourite line is the last one. We should never forget.
However, I made it quite clear in the rules that you were to comment on one of my poems. Work on that. And comment on one of the other poems once another is entered.

This is very good...a sad and powerful poem that does an excellent job describing the horror of the Holocaust. I especially like the first stanza. A well written poem. Thank you for entering my contest and good luck.

This is a song of a poem for the dead jews that underwent the final humiliation and the addition to the final tally in the final solution.

This was well written. You did an excellent job of painting a picture here, that is a very difficult thing to do. You were able to capture so much in such a short poem...that's also a difficult thing to do. You are very talented. Good Luck in the contest!
