A non believer, no faith at all,
I became a Christian in July,
I was saved one dark lonely night,
as the tears streamed down my eyes.
My life was total chaos for years,
fate was always unkind to me,
my burdens were overwhelming,
in July, the good Lord set me free.
A peace has come into my life,
a peace I have never known before,
my pain and sorrow of a life time,
disappeared as I opened God's door.
I have learned to help and love others,
who are lost like I was before,
I now give from my heart completely,
my life has meaning, it's empty no more.
My mind fought accepting my sweet Lord,
my heart searched for Him many years,
your life will be overwhelmed with joy,
God waits for you, as He waited for me.
Think about your heart filled with love,
God gives you strength to forget your pain,
He will comfort you on your darkest night,
knowing God Almighty, I am born again.
Author notes
I gave my life to Christ with the help and guidance of a young poet on here, Jason (live4eternity) He spoke so gently of God I listened. My life has been changed forever.

I especially loved the second to last stanza, because the line about fighting your belief in God has been very true for me. Don't get me wrong, I definitely believe in one supreme being (unlike many Wiccans), however, I believe that being has many faces which people see it by, be that Buddha, Muhammad, Shiva, Jesus... etc. I realize that is anti-Christian in thought, hence this contest. I am glad you have found something to believe in... it's important for everyone. And this was a lovely poem and it's always heartwarming to see writes specifically for this contest. It always feels so incredibly personal. Thank you.
