Feeling Alone

The day was very dark and gloomy,
the sunshine was fading away,
I needed to find the strength,
to make it through this day.

I knew this day was coming soon,
I just tossed it out of my mind,
when you are busy having such fun,
how can life be so  unkind.

The summer breeze was fading away,
the autumn chill was in the air,
I did not want to think of this day,
it seems life was always unfair.

Somehow I found the strength to go,
I made it through, the day was done,
tomorrow will be another long day,
good bye laughter,good bye fun.

Author notes

THIS IS ABOUT THE FIRST DAY OF HIGH SCHOOL IN A NEW TOWN

This poem was about the first day of high school
I remember I dreaded the first day of high school
New school, new classmates, lost in a crowd

Oh wow! That's great! I can identify perfectly with it. I was really unhappy for the first year or so of high school. Luckily it's settled down a bit now, the only reason I could possibly complain would be the workload... But, it's better than feeling alone. Well done and good luck in the contest!

That was what the contest wanted. You couldn't mention what it was about. You had to fool the judge, so she doens't know what it is about till she reads the author's cpmment. I hope she doesn't figure it out either. Thanks so much for reading and commenting. Take care, Sandy

Another good write Sandy. Although it was about school in your mind many other situations and circumstances raced through my mind. :-)
