Traces Of Love

Traces of long ago love fills my mind,
hiding in the deep recesses of my brain.
Love's memories begin to materialize,
vivid images I can no longer refrain.

My mind's thoughts are running rampant,
no longer hidden, memories bring a smile.
Passionate lovemaking of my younger days,
bring pleasure, they linger for a while.

The walks on the beach holding my hand,
watching the sunsets drift over the bay.
Laying me gently down upon the sand,
loving me tenderly till the break of day.

Our long walks in the crisp autumn air.
a breeze blowing through my long hair.
Lying in front of the logs on the fire.
loving the night away without a care.

Memories remind me how I long for you,
the love of my life, you sparked my fire.
These beautiful memories I'm feeling now,
overwhelm my mind with such wanton desire.

    Beautiful

I really like this poem. The rhymes are beautiful and do not seem at all forced. It makes me wish I was with the person I love right now. Poem is meant to emotional affect the reader, and this one definitely does that. Thanks for sharing it.

Thanks so much Tamara for the nice comment. Sometimes we only have our memories and even at my age they start to fade. Youth is so wasted on the young. Take care and God bless you. Sandy

Thank you Steff, I went back in my long memory bank for this one. I truly believe though you can love several times, there is only one true love. That's what this was written about. Take care Steff and again enjoy this great day for you. Let me know how it went. Love, Sandy
