You have a puzzle piece and so do I;
We carry it with us until we die.
Each piece has a place in God's overall plan
Of what happens to us as woman and man.
All the people we meet and the places we go
Give shape to the picture that we have to show.
So we mingle together and search for a piece
To see if it matches and fits with ease.
Sometimes we think that a piece really goes
Only to find that it just gives us woes;
And we hold on to it for quite a while -
Til we're forced to trade it for another style.
If we pick up a piece and it won't seem to fit,
It may be just perfect after waiting a bit.
Then there's the ones we don't even touch
Because we believe they're not worth very much.
Sometimes we're surprised by what we ignore
When we discover it's what we've looked for.
Thus, we go through life and we pick and we choose
The different pieces we want to use.
At times we seem lost at what choices to make
And amaze ourselves at the chances we take.
We don't have the picture on the boxtop lid
To show future results of things that we did.
And if we ask questions of God's grand design,
'Am I in your puzzle or are you in mine?'
We learn all of these pieces will merge into one
Completing the puzzle when life here is done.

Hi M, you did a superb job on this one. I had never really thought about the fact that we are all pieces to a bigger puzzle--the puzzle of life. We sometimes find the right pieces and sometimes we don't. Sometimes they fit, but the edges get worn from use and they no longer fit like they did at first. Sometimes it seems after the wear and tear they won't fit at all. That I think is why there are so many divorces in this land of ours. Thanks for a wonderful read.

I like this one to for I like the way it show your faith here. which is some times all we have to go on . I think that you did a good write here thank you for shareing it

Thanks, Rubee...It's true, we don't have the picture on the boxtop lid, but that would eliminate an element of faith, destroy the anticipation, and give us the ending before we started the movie. Maybe it's better that we just fumble as we go along! *smile* m

excellent
Absolutely superb write!!!! 'We don't have the picture on the boxtop lid'....I especially like this line...awesome poem WD!!! :)) -
I'm always amazed at the puzzle pieces I hold for a while, turn different ways attempting the fit them into my puzzle, only to set them back down because they don't fit...now. As the puzzle develops, that may truly be a key piece that joins all the others. Thank you Blaze.

excellent
Ah finally I got here to read this fine piece. Your words express so well how I feel about life, we are all here and there is a master plan I agree and we should enjoy what we can when we can and let the pieces fall where they may. Excellent -
Thanks everyone! Look at all the ones who have commented and I've totally ignored any responses!! Now, THAT's a puzzle! I guess my piece must have fallen on the floor, and I just now realized that I needed to get back on the table again! *smile*
DC..you are right. It could use a bit of polishing and I'll look at it more later.
Again, THANKS to all of you. m -
This verse is great!! How clever to work the puzzle of life into your creation of this write....My favorite line is:
'Sometimes we're surprised by what we ignore
When we discover it's what we've looked for.'
This is so true!! Many times in life, The perfect piece is standing right within reach and we don't even realize. My mate and I were best friends for 7 years. We have now been together for 18 years. You can see why that is my favorite line......
Your rhyme and flow is fantastic. The reader has no choice but to stay with the flow of this piece........Smiles your way Wary D :o)>>>>>>>>>Sandy/San-d -
Besides being an excellent poem for cadence, rhythm and rhyme..it is a work on the subject of the meaning of our lives which is a very deep subject to tackle--you did an amazing job of it here and indeed likening life to a puzzle (which we all agree it is)--although not an original idea by any means -is done here with a wit and intelligence and poetic lyricism that is to be applauded (loudly!!) With some 'polishing' --this could be 'divine.' I especially liked the last four lines!!!!

5 stars are not nearly
enough for this one . Bravo Wings -
This is great! I love the symbolism. Very imaginative.
-
Brilliant! I adore this! Thank you.
-
Bravo! WaryDreamer, you make life less of a puzzle with your puzzle explaination... now, if we could only see the puzzle piece the others are holding we'd have this life thing licked.
nice poem. -
You really captured what life is all about. Choices. I think that has been my theme song in life.:)) Very well written and to the point...
-
goodness, I liked this one too, I love how you placed your faith in with a puzzle, the questions, the reactions, the things we choose, it really is like a puzzle huh?
-
Reminds me of Tim Rice's Lyric, in the 'Lion King,' as sung by Elton John...'There's a rhymn and reason to the rush of days...as the twisting kaleidescope moves us all in turn.' G-man

I thought this was a great poem! Life is a puzzle, only to be worked out if we accept one another, who may hold the pieces we desperately need. Great job.
-
oh... Have a nice day

I too liked the way you compared life to a puzzle! Life is a puzzle in some senses. Being shaped by the people we meet along with our decisions! Well done! *applause*
-
I thought this was very well done! I really enjoyed reading it. I liked the way you compared life to a puzzle with each of us holding our own piece of it.
