Dungeons, Storms, and the Gracious Dismay

Once traveled, the roads can’t consume me;
We live under a gravestone of
self-doubt, its heading, ‘I’m accustomed”.

I’ve learned there is:
no gravitation around my day, for planets
survive anyway.

-forceful rain, however terrestrial,
doesn’t pour without it feeding the brain
remodeling the next move,
determines what my senses
should know in a kind of braille.

the side step habit of ours is
a soft- shoe version of living in
Greek dungeons
filled with monsters
and consuming appetites.

Grateful, the spoil is divinely ruined,
from his wrath, the love of God
is once again the diamond in my eye.

You formed together your words so professionally here it is hard to find a fault at all and I do keep a good eye out for anything that seems off-putting or out of wack and I didn't find a thing about this piece that I would like to see changed.
So there is something to be proud of, it is not everyday that I read a poem and don't find at least one thing I don't like, so you my dear, have done very well.

From beginning to end, each line sounds like it was perfectly placed, each with a purpose of connection to the next, in this wonderfully observant piece on life and faith. I enjoyed this very much, an inspirational and overall spiritually wholesome poem.

    much love,
    James

Hi hun... been a while. And as always you have a way with words.
But I stopped by to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. I hope all is well with you and yours.
I'm doing well, so not to worry...

I liked this very much, and I hope I understood it a little. No matter where we are, what we do, see, feel, or hear; no matter what we glean in this life, God is the one loving constant. If He's the "diamond in (your) eye" then your eye is definitely on the prize. Trials do tend to bring us around, nes pas?

MMM... His grace is sufficient . I loved the piece! Full of poetic elements that give me the warmest sensation.

The conclusion was phenominal. I'm glad I stopped by to read your work! I haven't seen you for a while.

Metaphorically speaking this piece was genius. Everytime I've scrolled back up to read it, I've gained a little more. You have a knack at that and it seems that it doesn't come from you (I guess I should be surprised). You reflect the light of He who made you. Great pen!

    Love -

Divinely Dianne with the Diamond in her eye .

    Dearest Dianne

Yes - how awesome God's Mercy and His Grace ... We backslide, climb, fall, crawl ... all to our own dismay, yet God is just and He is true - "the diamond in my eye".

How wonderful you've verbalized what I experience all the time. I put the reference to Romains 8 on my Author's Page early this morning, and today in church, what sermon our preacher, Chris Malan, prepared? Just guess! Yes: Romains 8!

    Love you, sweet Angel friend.

    superb

the storms come and go and blow great winds of fear in our direction, but as we hold steady to those we hold dear we honor our Father with our undying faith to weather it all and give it to him, for there is no problem great or small that he will not endure for us....
    rambling here
but I know what I am trying to say

Cookie, this is nothing short of awesome! The imagery so fits God's metaphors of a world reeling to and fro like a drunkard, so wicked it has become. The ending here is perfect, for it reveals how we can become unaffected by the chaos surrounding us on every side. Why isn't this in some contest where it can get the attention it deserves!?!

Your talent shines like a welcoming beacon in a moonless night. Keep up this quality of writing!

    Love and hugs, BonnieQ
