I wish I may, I wish I might
wish upon this star tonight
and all my fear would float away
about what's to come another day
But then I look around this star
and remember what's happened to me so far
So many things You've done for me
how, for me, You died on that tree
I could never repay You for what You've done
only prepare for what's to come
I know You're always there, even now
when I'm broken hearted or floating on a cloud
I look at these children around me
they having nothing at all, yet they're so happy
we tell them about You with all our strength
realizing that without You, we are weak
I look up at that star again
and wonder if it has another friend
someone else waisting their time on a star
not realizing what You've done for them thus far
And even though they may not know Your name
I pray, that before it's too late, they are told of Your fame.
Author notes
Another poem about my mission trip in Mexico. It was such a life changing experiance. And the team definitly learned that we had to have faith and rely on GOD ALONE to make it through that trip.
