Blue Black Purple

Blue Black Purple causes me to reminisce
About a wonderful lover, a passionate kiss
A big warm heart, a tight embrace
The man I love, his beautiful face

Blue Black Purple with deep brown eyes
Delicious pink lips, a lovely smile
Smooth, flawless skin that neither begins nor ends
A perfect body unmatched by most men

Blue Black Purple, we share memories so fond
And endless love, the perfect bond
A relationship that’s lasted the test of time
And heartbreaking obstacles of all kinds

Blue Black Purple reminds me of good times
With a man I’ve longed for whose now mines
Blue Black Purple, how could it not be my favorite color?
It’s the complexion of my long lost lover

See I so don't think like other people. I thought this was gonna be about abuse shew wipes brow.. Interesting how a color can describe deep feelings for people. In my case the color purple is also the color for Javier and I (my husband) but ours goes back to Prince and a roadtrip and the album Purple Rain.. The prankster inside me kept waiting for you to turn him into a alien, but again wipes brow he didn't and you're nice and normal.. ha ha Take Care this was a stunning write, Catressa

Wow. The way you've described his complexion is just incredible! I, myself, am more of a rosy ghost! This is beautiful and sad at the same time...see, you earned brownie points with Raven as you captured three of her favorites in one hell of a piece! Congrats on the gold!

Your title names three of my favorite colors, which means you are a triple threat! This write is so tender, yet becomes sad at the end since you lost him I wanted to break down in tears. Ah, well... I guess life won't always work in our favor. I didn't know what in the world "blue black purple" referred to at first... I started to wonder if you'd written that about your background As for the sake of the opposite sex, and our race, it it said that "the blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice", so if that holds true, this guy must've been molasses! (lol, just kidding) I really like this poem. I have not had much inspiration for love poems lately--unless they are of the sad variety.

Thank you for entering! I wish you luck in the contest.

    Many blessings,

    Raven Aurora

    good imagery

i like the imagery. as i read i saw this blue black purple person. have to admit at first it scared me, but as i read along i learned to love this person as you see them. don't judge by black or white, or in your case every other dark color in the crayola box. you have a nice way with words.

Holy shit, this was one of the best/most powerful writes I have ever had the pleasure of coming across. I would comment but I am speechless right now and after i read this I let out a hearty "WHOA!" You write with such passion, and while the scheme wasn't very complex, it's simplicity spoke volumes as it was perfectly formed and ultimately came together. I loved it, 2 thumbs up, Cheerio, "atta girl," and keep up the great work! Sincerely ~ Will

    Passionate

The way you describe each color is very deep...its like a painting, its hard not to see those colors in your head as you read it. Once again you succeeded.
