Cannot Shed

My eyes are stinging
The rain is coming
But I don't really know why

My mood is dark
I've lost my spark
I've lost the will I had to fly

Angst washing over me
The thunder storm and lightning
A torrent of rain floods the ground

Someone please lift me
Take my hands, hold me
I fear that I might soon drown

The cold gnaws at me
I'm losing feeling
Someone come warm me, help me feel

I feel so brittle
I feel so little
Like a child, this can't be real

My weakness is consuming
My strength is dissipating
Soon, I fear I'll be dead

I'd like to be held
Feel so warm that I'd melt
And feel the love I never had

But I feel so numb
These eyes are too dry
I have tears that I cannot shed
