For David, On Graduation Day
As you travel life’s terrain,
its valleys and each mountain peak
Take time to learn from each new day,
it’s love and contentment you seek
Life is like a football game
played through sunshine, rain and snow
For each hurdle makes you stronger,
helps you understand, makes you grow
And if sometimes you fumble,
remember there’s always a save
Whether you’re ahead in the game
or still trying to catch the wave
Sometimes the going gets tough
but you make it through each season
And someday you’ll look back and see,
all things happen for a reason
Today you embark on life
and I know you’ll not drop the ball
You’ve come this far, so now push on
you’ll see, someday you’ll have it all
I wish you success in life
with happiness and dreams fulfilled
Thank the Lord above for each new dawn,
for a wonderful life to build
You’ll do it, I know you will
you’ll go on to success, you’ll see
Each new day becomes your special time
with love and humility
Congratulations, David !!!

What a precious and special write for your grandson and filled with so much wisdom to carry with him in each and everything he endeavors in the future!!!! I'm sure this poem truly touched him and gave him so much encouragement to always try his best...but also, not to let adversity get him down, but to use it to make him stronger. What a wise and loving grandma you are!!!!

Beautifully written, with love, hope, and most of all encouragement! I believe the best part was how you compared life to a football game, rough! No matter how hard things get, there is a reason and positive side, even if you can't see it at the time it happens! I'm sure David loved it! I wish him all the best! CHANGE THE WORLD DAVID, MAKE A DIFFERENCE! I'm sure he will Ann
