Winter's Doorstep

There is a storm brewing, hear it in the wind,
the clouds are turning a disturbing gray,
their  softness that once was so clear,
seems to be drifting so very far away.

The once tender breeze felt upon my face,
has become a harsh cold wind blowing around,
the beautiful autumn colors, of God's creation,
fall from the branches, then cover the ground.

Storm clouds are brewing  on the horizon,
there is more then a crispness in the air,
another season will be upon us by morning,
soon snowflakes, will be falling everywhere.

Nature's splendor will rest for a little while,
the harsh winter winds, chase the beauty away,
through the Winter, we picture vivid memories,
beautiful autumn, summer and springtime days.

The autumn season is only a prelude to Winter,
preparing us for the harshness Winter may bring,
the beauty of the flowers and the autumn leaves,
become silent, they will be heard again in Spring,

i have my gloves and my fleece coat ready and waiting for the call of winter, and a woolly hat to keep my brain nice and cosy. autumn-winter, best times of the year i think. though sping is pretty cool too, it is just summer i am not that keen on with the heat and all. good poem.
