Animal Quackers

Missing image
"Will you play with me I'm lonely"
said the pussy to the ducks,
"shall we share some time together
and go play out in the muck"?
"Do your feathers get all rumpled,
if you get them soggy wet"
"will your mummy tell you off then"
"Ha, Ha, Yes...... I bet."

So, they went to "Charley's Meadow"
for a game, to play by all;
With a cricket bat and ball in hand,
they trundled up to score;
Just then they spotted something move,
it looked, so large and brown;
They, threw the bat and ball away,
and headed for uptown.....

Now, mummy Duck and daddy cat,
were searching for their young;
And, seeing them come charging up
and oh, so highly strung!
The poor wee ducks, were tired out;
The kitten, footsore weary, so off to bed
with lumps of bread and cuddles,
made them cheery.........

    So... where exactly did the inspiration for this come from. It was SO cute, just imagining the little chicks and the kitten playing together (ironic considering cats EAT birds- but it does show the innocence of youth- and I could just go on and on about hidden messages in this poem, lol). Very nice write that just made me smile.

    Aww this is so cute! I like this a lot. Such a nice ray of sunshine whereas so many other poems are bleak with darkness. Great job on this! So cute!
