Meant to Be

If you love something set it free
I didn't realize it then but I did and you came back to me
which means this was meant to be.

When fate played its hand
it knew exactly where we would land
even though we didn't understand.

From the heavens above
you were given to me to love
and you're everything I ever dreamed of.

Just as I know that each morning the sun will rise
I know your love is likewise
and with each day it brings a new surprise.

Just as each night the sun will set
from the moment we first met
my thoughts were unable to forget.

Just as I would wish upon a star
the very air I breathe you are
and from my heart you're never far.

I never knew that love could go to such degree
but now I finally see
this was truly meant to be.

    Good

    I agree the rhyme is great and the emotion, but a few lines are inconsistent with the rest of the flow. The offset flow gives the feeling that the rhyme is forced in a few places. Overall it was a good poem, keep up the good work.

    Wow! This was amazing. I wish I could say the same thing about myself. When I love something then let it go either they take off running or I do, because all of my relationships thus far have been disasters.
    I loved this poem. You have put so much emotion into it. I can feel the love. I am happy for you. By the way does he have a brother. Just kidding.

    Although I have read this before, as it feels when I read all love poems, including my own, this one had such a nice flow that I couldn't stop myself from reading it all the way to the end.
    Although I wasn't in the mood for this type of poem, you changed my mind.
    Very impressive write, I enjoyed it very much

    Although this poem has it's own cliches with are often repeated in numerous love poems,still this poem has good quality to it's form and flow and it works out in the end quite well and brings a smile to the face.

    Awww. This is so sweet! You touch on so many different feelings that go through a person who is in love. Sometimes, you end up taking love for granted, but with poetry like this, it reinvents all those feelings all over again. Wonderful, truly. The three lines with the same ending rhyme is not something I generally see a lot of, but it's enjoyable.

    full of love, and talking about being meant to be is having such a wonderful world, being so lucky that finally you've found your soulmate. explicit love that transcends all barriers!
