There is a war on terror being fought,
our sons and daughters fight each day.
They are our bravest and our finest,
dodging all the bullets, let us pray.
Many moms and dads won't cone home,
no, they won't be coming back at all.
The lucky ones will only be wounded,
as the mortar rockets make them fall.
Some will have to learn to walk again,
they need artificial legs and arms.
Please keep praying for our troops,
ask God to keep them safe from harm.
This war is dragging on much to long,
but the soldiers do their very best.
Our troops rid Iraq of Saddam Hussein,
no let's get rid of all the rest.
I pray for each and every fine soldier,
as they fight terror in foreign lands.
God protect them from the wrath of war,
as they fight in Iraq and in Afghanistan

Thank you so much Carl for the kind words. It breaks my heart to see the sadness that war causes. I have them in my prayers everynight. I hope they are appreciated more then the brave Vietnam veterans. I was ashamed how this country treated them on their return. You take care, it is always a pleasure to hear from you. Sandy

This was a wonderful heartfelt write...and I have learned to expect no less from you!! And You know the sad part is that even the ones not wounded will have to deal with the horror they have witnessed. I pray for them everyday. I only wish we could do more... What they have to see in a day over there, is more than most could deal with. My heart really goes out for them and for their terrified families...Thanks for sharing this. It gives us all something to think about... GREAT WRITE!!

ugh i hate war n fighting ( even though i fight alot to show im no pushover n that i wont take shit n i also fight for the hella of it ) but anyway nice write and it was beautiful the way you put it oh n thanx for the comment on my poem "Guyz are such morons" surprisingly girls are the only ones who commented on that poem lol, i guess the guyz must hate it....anyway, take care

Wow- this was a wonderful tribute to our brave soldiers (and yours as well). This was a wonderful write which I liked a lot, it showed the true bravery of the soldiers. One little question though, you're a great writer so I'm sure it was just an accident, should 'are' be 'our' so that the title reads 'God bless our troops'?
This was a lovely dedication to some of the bravest men in the world. Thanks for commenting on my poem, isn't it ironic that I found one with no comments already on? This was a beautiful write, I love it when you post something
