So many years, so far apart
This love we feel, still in our heart
To meet up now, how could it feel
Almost spiritual - and so surreal
Our eyes will meet like birds in flight
Filled with our tears - so clear and bright
Our pumping hearts, and surging veins
Our bodies limp, adrenalin reigns
You look at me, your gentle smile
It lures me in, just for a while
The urge to hold each other near
Excitement or just maybe fear
Fear of knowing where we've been
What we've been through and what we've seen
Our plans, our future we had sketched
These things are in our minds - still etched
Your arms outstretched, i rush to you
Can this be real - can this be true
We hold so tight, memories so clear
Emotions laced with love and fear
Fear once again of losing touch
Of losing what we want so much
We may live separate lives - apart
But together we will be in heart
Our lips touch, just like silken lace
The gentle breeze blows past our face
The quietness of our silent hall
Our own cocoon - hidden from all
It seems like hours - but how time flies
As tears roll gently from our eyes
This love as old as time gone by
Is felt by both - and just wont die
Emotions whell, we stand and stare
You wipe my cheek and stroke my hair
I hold your hands, as we stand still
I love you and i always will

Being forced by circumstances to move away from the one you love makes for a love so deep that when re-united, no words can explain the emotions felt

*sighs* just being a part from the person you love for a little while is hard, but i agree its about 100 times harder when you live far away. Long distance relationships are just so hard (knowin from experience!!) But back to your poem. Its so..just..i cant explain it. Its so beautifully written with nothing seeming forced and it has that rare truth behind it. You pieced it together very nicely. Great write!!! ilove it!
