times have changed.......

"times have changed since we was kids"
grandpa used to say
I feel deprived, not being able to live
in the good old way

now we don't all grow up on farms
we have sprinklers and fire alarms
to us chivalry is a set of kitchen knives

Times have changed since he was young
and I'm really missing out
I don't spend pennies worth a dollar or more
I don't miss walking 6 miles uphill-
in my father's pyjamas to get to school
it's torture running down the driveway in slippers

we don't have outhouses;
we don't have manners,
we've got indoor plumbing too
great big buildings-
great big bills
pollution and noisy people

those good ole days
have gone away
and its at quite the cost
when do we ever stop and sit
and think about the loss?
