Healing Love

Dear Alpha,
I will not pretend that I know what to say
because words fail in times like this.
Just please know that enjoined together
in the bond of love
reflecting the glory of God
are hearts stretched out to you
across any physical distance between us.
We don't know you but we care.
that's the AP Spirit.

Sincerely,

Duana

A beautiful piece attaining so much enlightening hope across the miles. Indeed, we don't have to sit next to the person to give our love. Good luck in the contest, this was an excellent entry. Take care, Kate

The hardest thing in a hospital waiting room, is knowing what to say. do i talk about the weather,? Do i offer advice? It is never easy. But what i found i wanted (needed, really) when i was waiting for one treatment or another, was honesty...as in your poem here...I will be honest with you, had i heard these words ,as you have penned them, my heart would have been comforted by them, I would probably not have maybe not have showed it, but it would have touched me. That’s the truth. Only one who has first hand knowledge of pin and sorrow can write like this. Only one who has experienced the isolation of disease or its debilitation has this level of understanding....understanding that what a hurting person wants more that words is the presence of another....apart from words. A very compassionate piece. Thank you for sharing this. Blessings and best wishes, richard
