Transfiguration

These shadows are now me.
Been here so long, hidden
From cold skies and warm seas;
Ice, the blood vessels within,
Wrapping me in dusk, I sink.

Gloom is now in me.
Sitting here so long, stiff
As statues made from steel,
Every peril becomes real,
Lost in my own fantasy.

Nothing is now me.
Mountains cold and bleak,
Isolation's how I speak
Vocal chords are weak
As leaves, forsaken, sink.

Death has become me.
Bleakness overcoming paths
Covered by mist and dark.
Swallowed by sadness, in
Shallow waters now I sink.

It's interesting to run across old works...this is a good one. I love the imagery in this...very bleak.
