Rise up Sir Knight, stand brave and bold,
Go search in my name for wealth and gold,
Don’t dare come back until the coffers are full,
For I am the master, you are my tool.
The Knight, mounted his steed and rode to the gate,
The sun was going down, it was getting quite late,
Through the night he did ride, until a new dawn,
As the sun came back up, he was getting quite warm.
His thirst was severe, his mouth was bone dry,
Not a well was in sight, not an Inn could he spy,
Then out of the woods, a pretty woman did walk,
She looked at his face, and began to liltingly talk.
Brave Knight please partake of the last of our wine,
It’s really not special, it’s not noble or fine,
He slaked his thirst, then opened the chest,
Then carefully at the bottom, laid her kindness to rest.
On he did ride, until he came to a clearing,
A couple were huddled, anguished cries he was hearing,
Then all of a sudden a cry of great joy,
As the father held up the beautiful, newborn boy.
The smile on their faces was a sight to behold,
So he opened the coffer and to the husband he told,
Sir this wonder is the most magical thing,
I’m going to share this treasure with my master the King.
On through the land he travelled for a year,
Following stories of kindness that came to his ears,
When the coffers were full, he wearily made his way home,
Then bowed down before his master, his treasures were shown.
Red faced with anger, the King bellowed with might,
You’ve wasted my time, you will perish Sir Knight,
Sir, pray wait, I bring you the greatest of wealth,
I bring coffers of Love, Joy, Kindness and Health.
