Gandhi - A Limerick

When talking about pain and strife,
It brings to mind one Gandhi's life-
His non-violence,
Didn't really make sense-
When you consider that he beat his wife!

Author notes

Now, let me just say, I'm sure there's a lot more to Gandhi than what I've written above. But it's a valid point-- wife beating is wrong. No matter how passive resistant you are.

I never knew that he did repent on the beating of his wife. Thank you for letting me know, because that gives me more respect for him. Thanks very much for your comment.

.. you surprised me nicely with your write here my friend..

oo.. nice write here dear friend.. .. well.. you have hereby made me remind of a nice point.. but dear.. i think you must have noticed what his age was at such time.. .. he had a child marriage ... .. wont it be good for you to tell up in your author's comment what his age was... and i think it would be more than better for you to tell the reference that made him beat his wife... his wife, namely "KASTURBA", always stood besides him as a rock and always gave him confidence.. i have full respect for her... but then.. later in his life Gandhiji himself repented on his such act of beating...
but yeah dear friend.. this point is nicely pointed out through your nice represtation... i liked it .. take cares and have a nice time.. just keep it up dear... your humble little friend... ... ... .... - vic

Knowing practically nothing of this man I had no idesa about the wife beating - perhaps cultural who knows - whatever - it's wrong. Good Luck in the contest.

Very good point made here. I'll be honest and say I know little or nothing about Gandhi but you are right that wife beating (or anybody beating) is wrong....period! Nice write and good luck in the contest!
