She paints with bandaged feathers
colours from a Glory pallette,
strokes each painful stillness
transposed to joy.
Elegant countenance-
and oh--so beautiful,
she’ll forfeit dance and wine
in a servant’s cloak;
the silver lining, inside out
She leads the children and challenged
from her reduced world, spilling over
in extended melody.
To that note, Yeshua sings-
and because she surrenders,
He transformed her earth at
heaven's first floor,
and gladly
raised its roof.

You've just GOT to meet this lady through her stories, and the movie that you might have also seen years ago!

I do not know Joni, neither do I know her work, but through your very lovely and descriptive poem a clear image formed in my mind. How precious you are in your praise of your fellow men! How refined you presentation of this praise. I loved the wordings (He transformed her earth at/heaven's first floor,/and gladly/raised its roof), and I loved the background. Such a gentle, yet bubbly soul you are!

This is a wonderful tribute, Cookie. Perhaps, you should find a way to get it to her. It just might be that day that she needs a spiritual lift and this certainly would give it to her.
Well done, hon. Love and hugs, BonnieQ
