Tonight's Thunder

Tonight’s thunder will echo off the walls of mind
Like a voice in the distance
Softly calling my name as I sit in a shadowy room
Clutching my pillow and watching the raindrops
Commit suicide jumping from the clouds
Splattering to the earth below

Tonight’s thunder will awaken words unwritten
The rain will water seeds of songs and stories
Beautiful as glowing orange lilies
Flourishing in my mind until one day
Picked with a pen
And arranged on a page

Tonight’s thunder will sing in a rolling baritone
Harmonizing with my eager alto voice
And the two of us will chant gospels not to God,
But to the eternal forces of passion, fate and love

Tonight’s thunder will swim up
And rap my window pane
Beckoning the young white witch to come and join the storm

Tonight’s thunder will clap with glee
As I step out from behind my walls
Hidden by the dreamy mist that cloaks the sky

Tonight’s thunder will provide the ancient procession
As I sway in primitive dance
A cherry blossom in the wind
Fragile and yet strong

Tonight’s thunder will send raindrops clinging to my hair like angels’ tears
A bridal veil as I marry the good green earth
And make love to the tempest
A sparkling crown proclaiming that I rule the sky
For just a moment in time

Tonight’s thunder is a celebration
Of me

Very impressive. The repetition of the title line really works, tying everything together. There's stunning imagery here as well
    ("watching the raindrops
Commit suicide jumping from the clouds
    Splattering to the earth below")
There is majesty in this poem. I totally love the ending; a celebration of you is fitting.
