Ain't worth it

It ain't worth the pain, it ain't worth the heartache.
When I fall in love just in time to hear you say goodbye.
No, it ain't worth flying, then falling, and crashing down.
It ain't worth starting out so good just to finish with a cry, or two.

Yeah, I want you so bad,
'til I think about what I've had
Then I don't want you anymore,
I don't want to open up that door,
Just to get it slammed in my face.
It's a game, that's what they say

But it's always lust,
'Cause we know loves turned to dust.
I don't want to get hurt
So why try if I'm just going to end up burnt?
I know you can't mean it,
'Cause the rest, they didn't, so I quit.

Author notes

I found this the other day,  and I liked it.  I don't remember why I wrote it. haha.

Well it's completly true.... Everyone has that stupid feeling that they should quit with love and they never do. It's an incredibly harsh game. I do like this poem a lot, awesome job!
