The tragic elfin tale is told
Of how The Pools of King Elmond
Which held the mystic healing pond
Became The Pools of Restiny
Because men sought famed destiny.
Before the great war between men and elves
Swirling waves of the mystical healing pond
Restored health by the grace of King Elmond.
Passive peaceful elves of Restore
Who dwelt upon the eastern shore
Brought healing to both men and elves.
The west sent warriors of King Restiny
For evil men desired it for themselves
And fought to take it away from the elves.
Armed with violent chains, spears and swords
Men came marching in frightful hordes
To seek their own famed destiny.
They sought the power of the healing elves
Who held the mysterious swirling pond
In this calm realm of elfin king Elmond.
Peaceful passive elves would not fight
The warriors of power and might
Who came to obtain for themselves.
Wizards summoned nymphs to stop Restiny,
But were unable to protect all the elves
With their arsenal of mystical spells.
Many men and many elves fell
By sword and by mystical spell
To make the Pools of Restiny.
The pools of peaceful King Elmond
Which held the mystic healing pond
Became The Pools of Restiny
Because men sought famed destiny.
Noble men and elves tragically died.
Restiny must be where the dead abide...
Until the day when Altiny,
The grandson of King Restiny,
Would choose a noble destiny.
Author notes
This is a poem in a series of Fantasy Poems. All will make one complete story but should stand out on its own as well.
How does the story flow? Does it keep you interested? Have I sparked any interest in the series?
I would like opinions on how the poem stands on it's own. For those interested in the series, I would love to know how well they fit together or not.
