TIME - Wyleian Sonnet XV.

Missing image
TIME. -  Wyleian Sonnet XV.

Time, ever moving forward, cannot be stayed nor stilled
nor can we turn it back though many try.
We often waste it much and, thoughtlessly, have killed
hours which relentlessly went drifting, forfeit, by.

We often say “there was a time” and mean the past
or “Once upon a time” our stories start.
Think though, upon the length of Time “your time” may last
and after, what may happen to you, time apart.

Don't squander Time or let it foolishly elapse.
Each unforgiving minute try to fill.
Thus may you live life full of purpose and perhaps
come to your end achieving God’s mysterious Will.

If you, with care, observe that “your time” never lingers
ensure that none slips, slyly, through your fingers.

Hugh Wyles, September 11th. 2004.

It is when we think that we have time enough that we do waste precious time in life for it passes faster than we realise and sometimes it is too late to have it back in hands.
An excellent poem from which I enjoyed reading

    Kisses and love,
    Mari

    Hugh-
I do not consider a single moment spent writing or conversing with you wasted or ill spent. this is a great follow up to the other reflective peces you have been penning.
I am honored to have my name on this one as my contribution was nominal...
    Well written as always
    Your Forever Gen

    awakening

We know time is precious, yet waste it. I think the reason is ignorance, which needs to be eradicated. And you seem to have hit the nail on the head with the beautiful sonnet on this page. It is enlightening and awakening to have read it.
    Thanks for sharing your wisdom,
    Saurabh.
