Rememberimg 911

Three years ago the towers came crumbling down,
our faith in God was tested that fateful day,
so much sorrow filled our hearts,
we found comfort as we came together and prayed.

We looked to Heaven for the answers that day,
God's heart was also full of tears and sorrow.,
His love and faith in all mankind,
helped us have faith in a brighter tomorrow.

All day the road to Heaven was crowded for miles,
so many loved ones were lost that sad day,
God sent all of his angels to help all the souls,
they helped each soul to find their way.

We will never forget the shock and pain that day
from the terror that came from the blue sky,
the family and loved ones will never be forgotten,
we will never know the reason, only God knows why.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on the poem Remembering 911. Yes its one of those days you will always remember where you were. I remember taking my grandaughter to her bus stop minutes after the first. I just kept saying I can't believe they did that over and over. That's all I could say walking down the street with her. My heart goes out to the families, especially the children left without parents and so many other relatives. Take care Carl, Sandy

This is such a sad day for so many. It's hard to believe it's been three years. In some ways, the wounds of this day are still so fresh in the minds of so many people and the suffering still continues. You did a good job here Sandy.

Thanks pozo for the lovely comment. Yes it was a horrible day. My nephews girlfriend was there that day, she was okay. Doesn'like to talk about it, so we don't mention it anymore. . Take care Sandy

My regrets to anyone who has lost a loved one through those attacks, it's an important memory, though a tragic one. I liked the way you wrote this poem, despite it's subject matter, the use of God gave hope within this poem. A fantastic write for today, my regrets to anyone who's lost a loved one and my prayers that it will never happen again (although human nature means it probably will ). Keep writing, thanks for commenting on my poem.

    Wonderful, though sad

A sad memory and yet one that is needed. Peace on earth, Oh May it come true.
