Jesus Christ carried the cross through the streets for me,
He took all my burdens and sins , He set me free,
He lifted my soul up so my eyes could see clear,
I denied God all my life, He taught me not to fear.
Our Lord never gave up, he never abandoned me.
He sent me my own angel, a sweet young man was he,
My mind has been opened to the wonders of God's love,
God taught me to believe in Him and in Heaven above.
His love is filling my life in so many special ways,
I feel his presence in the dark each night as I pray,,
He brings calmness to the turmoil in my life,
I no longer feel all their anger or let them cause me strife.
I found the Lord and here he will stay,
I will follow him forever, His words I shall always obey,
He gives me comfort from all my heartache and fears,
Whenever I need a friend I know God is near.

Thamk you for taking the time to read my poem, God's wonder. I appreciare the nice comment. I wrote it from my heart. The two lines that seened to be forced, really weren't, it was what I felt at the time. I guess I was writing it for myself and didn't think about how it sounded to others. All of my poem about God are written from my heart. I do appreciate the advice. I wish more people would be honest. Being a new poet, I have so much to learn. Thanks again. Take care, Sadsy

Beautiful and personal. I caught a glimpse of your personal story but it was general enough that anyone could relate.
I did think 'see clear' and 'fear' rhyme was a bit forced, but flow is very subjective.

Awwe this is beautiful. I just watched "The Passion of the Christ" last night (I know, I'm slow
) so this is all fresh on my mind and heart right now anyway. Such horror he went through when he could've stopped it, but he didn't. He loved us enough to see his plan through. Very nice write indeed.
