Innocents

Halo of tears running profuse,
echoes around the world,
great sadness touches all
in their hour of need,

loving arms reaching out
to comfort and hold, never
failing in their support,
always the question why,

how could it be allowed,
the price has been paid by
the innocents,
this senseless slaughter
 is not the first .
 .
The sins of man
escalate to dreadful heights..............

Author notes

For the children.

wow this was really amazing...it made me think of 9-11. its was a tragic event that made innocent pay the price they didnt deserve to pay. but the world reached out its armed and comforted us...or atleast some of the world. but we are still comforted in some way, even though we will always have the thought of those lost, the heroes of our nation, but we will find happiness in our hearts knowing they died heroes...i think that all made sense. anyways i thik you know what i meant. wonderful write i really enjoyed it.

So very true, you stated it simply. It's very sad we let innocent people suffer, expecially those too young to understand. Some suggestions for improving this (and I am being picky, so don't take offense): "echo's" should be "echoes", add a space after the comma following innocents, delete the extra space before "is not" and the comma between first & the. I'd also suggest making the line breaks after each comma for smoother flow, and eliminate the excessive ellipsis. Overall, a good emotionally charged poem.

You are very kind I enjoy writing on many subjects, maybe not quite poems as I rarely write in rhyme but I find I just have to write, not always happy thoughts, sometimes deep thoughts but often just a whimsey to brighten the day

fantastic, but terribly sad, piece. as for your writing skills, you can either put a smile on someone's face, bring them to tears, or seriously make a person think. you are a fantastic writer, and this was a fantastic write. You have been blessed by God with this talent of yours

Unthinkable horror that as a parent I can't even come close to comprehending. Our hearts and prayers go out to them at their time of grieving.
