Worth

'Tis God that keeps the future in His hand,
And  only He knows what each day day will bring.
Our days flow through His fingers like the sand,
we'll soon be down to one last trickeling.

We have to value ev'ry single grain,
of sand that trickles down upon the earth.
When God will send us sunshine wind or rain,
it is intended to improve our worth.

The sand so harshly heated by the sun,
gets rained upon and wind-blown 'to the air,
Just so the work of God in us is done,
The trying days will move our hearts to prayer.

Each day that God gives us while we're on earth,
with faithfull prayers will increase in worth.

i adore sonnets, and this one is absolutely beautiful. the content is very appealing to me and phrased eloquently. the second stanza is rich and lovely. the form is wonderful. and rhyme is very creative. i have seen 'prayer' used as two syllables in the past. were you counting it as two in the last line? i think it is one of those words that can go either way in poetry. your couplet sums it all up superbly. i very much enjoyed this write.
