Angel Baby

Her skin as soft as silk
As she breathes in life’s hope
Breaking the nine month tradition
She carries the love of her mother

A white light surrounds her tiny body
As her grandmother sees her through life
A precious gift is what this little angel is
As she unites two souls together as one

She is an angel baby
Of hope and of love
She is an angel baby
Brought  from above

Her smile warms the lives of several
As her tiny hands touch our souls
Breathing the life of a loved one passed
As she enters this world from above

Her life guided by that of another
Taking on life’s precious journey
She is a survivor like her mother
Giving us hope when all seems lost

She is Evanna Sophia Hope
Her name shines like the heavens
Bringing a smile to a lost face
She is Eva, life’s little angel baby

Author notes

This is written for a dear friend of mine.  She gave birth to little Evanna on August 26th.  Eva as we call her was born premature at only 27 weeks gestation, and was born weighing only 2lbs 6oz.  She is doing ok, but has her ups and downs which is expected.  Her mother had a brain bleed which caused her to give birth so early, and 2 days after giving birth had to have brain surgery.  Please keep them in your thoughts!

Little Eve will soon be three years old I hope she's done well, and her mamma, too. Eve was born on my birthday

You've written a lovely poem in her honor, Jenn. I know she'll treasure this when she gets older

Sorry had to skip to the begining. Adult poetry wouldn't allow me to skip it or comment. Anyways! WOW! Very speachless. This is an awsome piece of work. It makes me feel like I'd imagine mothers feel when they have their baby. Thae one look that gives you the unconditional love that guides them through their lives. Good job. I'm glad I came across your poetry!

This reads like a lyric. Like a glorious song of praise echoing towards the heavens.
I should think that your friend liked it.

Awwwww, it is always so scary when babies come too soon. It is a miracle that they can be saved now, at such a small size. Twenty years ago, a baby that small wouldn't have had much of a chance. I will pray for both of them.

How touching , and yet also miraculous what modern medicine can accomplish nowadays. I will most certainly keep your friend and the new little angel in my thoughts and heart. This is a very nice gesture of yours , and the poem is great

this was a magnificent poem for a gorgeous baby that will show this world what hope truly is all about.
I could sense the love and adoration for your friend while reading this piece, as far as the miracle birth of an early baby well, medicine has come a long way thank goodness. I will hold both your friend in need of prayer for her speedy recovery and precious new child that will bring heaven to earth while she is here.

    Beautiful

Awwww this poem is truely beautiful, i loved it, even thought its not the kind of poem i usually enjoy, i know exactly how you feel when you see someone as an angel, because some people in this world are truely angelic, even if they dont see it themselves. The use of vocab was perfect for the piece, it was really emotiontial. Technically, the poem is not brilliant, but poetry isn't about structure, or stanzas or any of that crap in my opinion, its about depicting and conveying deep emotions to others through use of carefully selected vocabulary, which in this poem, you have done brilliantly, i love it, and i hate people who write comments like the one above, they really suck, anywho, have some veryb deserved applause, Danny xxx
