You ignorant fools,
Fighting a holy war!
Quite an oxymoron if I say so myself.
All arguing over who's right...
Because we all know -
There is only one interpretation to the Bible.
Ha! Really now!
The Bible was a book written by man,
Interpreted by man,
*INSPIRED* by God.
Ahh, there are the words so many forget,
Inspired by God.
People judge by one account with another,
Never do they take the time to find out.
Or listen to one's belief.
It's always a fight!
Each person shoves one belief
Straight down the others throat.
Well, I'm sick of it!!
God is out there..
Hell, I'm sure of that!
I stand before you a proud Catholic.
One who doesn't believe all her church states,
But one who feels most home in this faith.
Someone who isn't ignorant enough,
To think them self as the only one right,
But someone smart enough,
To know ignorance can be condemning.
We need to be reaching out to each other,
Not bashing each religion!
Worshiping together,
In our own unique ways.
God never wanted us to have a "religion"...
Just faith in Him.
No need to unite Churches.
For if He wanted it that way,
Don't you think it would be so?
I suppose I'm just content in knowing,
That my God kicks major butt!!
My God has a sense of humor,
He laughs at me when I stumble,
But holds me close as I'm tearing up.
He doesn't think me any less, with any other religion
He just loves me - it's as simple as that.

Nice point about the wars of our world's history being all about religion. This is a major thing I remember noticing from my Western Early Civilizations Class. It is difficult to find a war not faught over religion, and when you think about it, how the theme of basically every religion is more like love God, love God's people, love each other (thy neighbor). You are so right about this.

EXACTLY!
You hit it on the head...
It's NOT about right or wrong - It's about GOD! (or allah, or whoever you choose). We all lose sight of God and just fight with eachother!
Woo! Ignite the fire! Stand up..speak out
heh..now I sound like an MTV commercial

EXCELLENT
That was so well written and truthful!!!!! So many people thinking they are right and ignoring the fact that it isn't about right or wrong - It's all about faith. I thought that your poem was quite bold and so very heartfelt. An amazing write that Ignited my own fury on the situation... -
thanks for the correction, but technically speaking it can be spelled both ways (just looked it up)
and the poems not meant to show..it's meant to tell, vent, and try to smack some sense into people
thanks for taking the time to comment!!

I'm so unreligious it hurts sometimes.
"Worshiping together," should be "worshipping together"
This poem tells, rather than shows. But for the intent that you have, it works OK.

A+
I enjoyed this poem – and even some of the lines made my laugh (which is a positive comment and please take it that way), I am a Christian however I do not force my beliefs onto someone else as do unfortunately a lot of people around me as well as the church. When we all should learn to live like brothers and sisters –excepting our difference . This is a powerful poem. I agree with what you are trying to say. My thumbs up. And keep up the good work. Cheers Karolina. -
wow, I'm not a cathlic but I more than agree with this one. Man made tradditions opress religion, jesus was crucified because the jews didn't want to break away from man made traditions. So this holy war Was going on back in the bible too. man is stupid, god is smart, Which is more inspiring. This is such an awesome powerful write, that has a point I've been trying to get across to so many people. It's not about religion It's about relationship. this poem is just awesome. It had a powerful impact. I love it. josh

Words to live by
Astounding. Simply wonderfully put together. I wish that there were a way to be able to nail this to churches doors all across the planet like Martin Luther did with his 95 Theses. This was able to pick apart the divisions that so many people feel are necessary to sustain a balance and create the "right" religion. There's no such thing. As you pointed out, the only thing that matters is a Faith in Him and an obedience to what He says, not following how someone else intreprets what He said. I loved this. Again, amazing write, I hope that we are all as able to ignore the divisions among the church, being a non-denominational Christian I'm trying to do my part, but it takes some from everyone. Good luck to you in life and faith, keep up the great writing and don't ever let anyone tell you you're wrong. Take care and God Bless. ~BrokenMasks -
wunderbar
wow! I love this poem. I can totally relate. I am, however a christian...it doesn't make a difference though. this is a wonderful poem. I don't always agree with some of the things my church stands for, but I'm not there for the church. I'm there for Christ. again. great write. -
excellent
. . now this is potent
wuuu huuuuu
i have written similar but differently, of course . .lol
faith is most important thing . .to believe . .

well done -
If only more people thought like this..I'm a nondenominational christian, a lot of my friends are atheist or agnostic or whatever. People need to learn that trying to force your views on others has the opposite effect =/
