Arthur and Anna

Two spiritual beings
in a human existance
their challenges met
with endless persistance.

Their love for each other
so profound, so pure
Time's ravaged their bodies,
but the passion endures.

The past is the past,
the future untold,
they're here for each other
in body and soul.

Taking the time
to pause and reflect
a sun lathered day
filled with love and respect.

Each day is a gift,
as each moment takes flight
eternally gratefull
as they enter the light.

Arthur and Anna,
my parents, my mentors,
I thank you
for bringing me into your lives.

With the deepest respect and unwavering love,

always,

Henri

Such a loving tribute and dedication to your parents. It is a rare thing in life where two people stay devoted and dedicated to each other over time!! This poem is lovely, and I am sure your parents treasure it, I know I would!!

Well said, in poem and comments. It seems so simple and yet we all miss the boat on this at times. Say it, and say it NOW, while everyone is here, our time is so very short. Beautiful write, Henri. When one considers the source, it's not a surprise in the least. x Tilly

Ferg, your words speak as much about the beauty of your heart as they do theirs...this is a nice way to spend a Saturday morning, reading this ~P

Oh how I agree with you, one of my lasting memories is of embracing my Mum the day before she died and saying 'I thank God for having you as my Mum, my friend, and my teacher. I love you so much and I thank you for all you have given me'

Thanks folks for the wonderful comments. I actually wrote this for their 50th anniversary and had it printed on place cards. I feel I need to say these things to the people in my life, especially my parents while they're still here to hear those words. The same goes for all the people who touch our lives.
