No malice or avarice,
They ask but, for a life
Why slaughter innocent animals
for your brutal lust,
Do you realize,
How much humanity
do you pay?
To quench this
barbaric thirst.

sometimes it is needed to hunt animals to lessen their population for if they over populated they would get diseases and die in greater number. It's the circle of life ..get over it

I have a question, what about those of us who hunt for food? Who take only what we need and use the meat and hide of the animal?
-
I agree with you on this one. Too many animals pay the highest price for man's lust for "trophies". It is a sad statement to mankind, that we allow such things. Hunting for sport is fine, when the meat is used as it should be. Hunting for food is the most noble sacrifice an animal can make. But to simply hang a trophy on the wall? To lay a rug on the floor? To make a statue of an innocent animal whose only crime was to be in your sites at the wrong time? Ah but such men should suffer the same fate! Could but these animals who become trophies hang their own trophies of men who would hunt them! Then maybe they would understand that their hunt is so much more. It is a slaughter of something more precious than words. It is a slaughter of ourselves.
Sorry, I love animals, and you definitely struck a cord. Great work! Keep up the good work!!! -
I'm glad that the Fox Hunting for fun is banned in UK... this poems refects writers caring attitude towards innocent animals... nice use of the words but the most importantly it conveys your dismay ... this reminds me of movie " Deer Hunter"... I can tell you must be vegetarian too... Apurva you're very talented...

Wonderful
A beautiful write about a sensitive subject. Hunting for pleasure has almost eradicated our wild life and many species are dying out on us.
A cruel game cherished by the rich. Once again you have taken a needed subject and versed it in style.
